The effect produced by singing depends upon the depth of feeling of the singer.~Hazrat Inyat Khan
Singing is a way to fully embrace life. Feelings are expressed as sound. Music is a universal language. No matter what language a song is in, if the singer is singing from their heart, we will know by listening to what they are feeling. The emotions that we strive for, happiness, joy, serenity, contentment, all have beneath them LOVE. Those emotions which prevent us from living our lives fully, sadness, anger, hatred, envy, all have underlying them fear. Through breath and the sound of our voice, a connection is made to our heart and the deeper emotions. As our heart opens our Higher Voice emerges. By giving voice to these feelings we can let those states which grow out of love be present in our everyday lives and allow those that are based in fear to fall away.
In this (noncoventional) class we will explore singing with our hearts and our whole bodies using yoga kriyas, breathwork, toning, mantras and meditations. We will also explore the I will help you learn how to clear obstacles that prevent you from making the connection of your heart to your voice where opening your voice to sing for the love of singing is the goal, to experience the love of life, ourselves, and a the connection to the God, Goddess and the Divine.
